The tale of the working fax
Update on fax story:
So my vendor at last did offer to help me. Not that it was much help in the end, but at least I appreciate the effort.
They told me I could buy a 6-7000 kr. Minolta color laser printer and then if the fax would not work, I could get a technician from Minolta (for a fee) who could get it to work.
Only a laser printer in our tiny office is not an option and we don't want our fax out in the open where students and visitors can get to the incoming faxes, though those are rare.
So the Boss decided that we'd buy a cheap printer for sec and if fax didn't work, declare that faxes are long since obsolete.
We decided on a Brother printer since the Brother laser printer downstairs works, so we bought a Brother MFC-290C, and behold! The fax worked, even with the evil of IP telephony which has come into the world.
