I found this book by searching for the Green Rider books and the Firekeeper books on Amazon and looking at "people who bought this book also bought..." Then I went to my local (well, Copenhagen-ish) fantasy book store and checked out the recommended books.

This one was a good choice.

It is probably a very female book, as are the other two I mentioned. The main character is a girl/young woman in magic school who is suddenly sent on a mission where she grows up, and learns more about her own abilities. The girl is a glass blower and one hears lot about that craft. The book also has some love in it, and a few beautiful horses.

But of course the characters, the writing style and to some extend the plot is the main factors as to whether the books is good, and it is. I recommend it and I should say that it is the fourth in a series and one might want to start with number one, Poison Study.
